This kid fusses and fusses and then snores. It's really cute. Until he wakes up. At this point I let him fall asleep anywhere just to get him to nap during the day.

Enjoying it all
I can't help picking up a camera every time Adlai smiles. Of course, when he sees said camera, he usually stares off with a serious expression on his face (similar to the one he uses when he dirties a nappy).
So I was delighted to get more smiles out of the happy camper.
Please excuse the fact that you can almost see his brain when you look up his nose. And why are you now looking up his nose?

Two Months!!
Just lots of pictures of Adlai and we'll throw Lilly in there for good measure. Adlai is weighing in at around 11 pounds. We'll go with 21.5 inches. He gives us a coo every once in a while. He laughs in his sleep and it's a total nerd laugh. It takes us a while to get him to fall asleep at night but once he does, he is a pretty good sleeper.

The Right Quote at the Wrong Time
Without getting into a debate about OSU's football team right now, I wanted to show you a onsie I received from my brother and sister-in-law. This was the first thing I received after we started telling people I was pregnant. It made me giggle.
The reason he is crying is the reason I'm having second thoughts about putting Adlai in the thing as this is what came out the backside.
And yes, he looks like I've put a pillow over his head, but I think he realized I had a camera and tried to climb under a rock. But the pillow was the closest thing to a rock that he could get to. He can't go very far very fast.

Let's Go to the Movies . . .
We took Lilly to her first movie at the theater to see Rio. Seth got tickets through Ford and we got a free soda and popcorn with it. I'm sure a lot of people take their children earlier than 5, but really, try to sit through a movie with Lilly and you'll get why we waited. And why it may be another ten years before we try again.
She is a talker from the moment the movie starts she needs to know what is going to happen to each character. Why, why, why? And she's a bit sensitive, hates conflict.
But, she had a great time and wants to do it again next weekend. We may not wait ten years to take her to the movies but she will have to buy her own popcorn.
And FYI - I took a picture with a lovely smile from Lilly but this was the picture our friend Nicolas took. Lilly did get dressed up to go, it was very sweet.

Time to Immunize
Apparently whooping cough is making a comeback. Or there is an outbreak. Or something. Either way, the state of Victoria or maybe even all of Australia is recommending that babies be immunized at 6 weeks instead of two months because of this. And encouraging parents to also get a booster shot. So, that's what we did. In theory, we will not have whooping cough running around in our house.
One vaccine was a liquid that Adlai had to drink. He slept through that part but downed it like a champ. Then he had a shot in each of his legs. He woke up long enough to give a little scream and then he was fine. He probably would have gone back to sleep if it hadn't been time to eat.
And tetanus was included so I can step on a nail and not worry so much. Seth couldn't even remember when his last booster was but I know mine was in 2003 when I came home from Fiji (I now know why I shouldn't be playing soccer without shoes, or any other outdoor activity for that matter).

Oh, Shiny!
We are procrastinators, as everyone knows! So yesterday we had to run to the shopping center to buy a few items for the ball. Mainly shoes for the dancer.
Our options seemed to be pink, black or silver. I wanted Lilly to be able to wear these shoes with all her dresses (and she has a LOT of dresses, she prefers the dresses over jeans, getting her into jeans is like asking her to poke her eyeballs with toothpicks but maybe I'll talk about that another day). So pink was out because although they are tough to find, she has been given dresses in colors other than pink. The dress she was wearing for the ball was white with lots of pink and purple so I didn't think black would work very well. So silver was our winner.
But the poor kid may have my feet issues and finding shoes for her may always be a difficult task.
We would find a shoe we could all agree on and then couldn't find the correct size or the one we found was falling apart. It took forever to find a shoe that would work.
In the end, Lilly was very excited about her very shiny shoes.
